Breast Lift in Munich

Breast lift

For many women, the female breast is an essential attribute closely associated with their self-identification. Unfortunately, not all women are naturally endowed with firm, well-formed breasts.

There are many factors that negatively influence the breast’s shape: weight and hormonal fluctuations, pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause, and even gravity. In addition, our connective tissue loses its firmness and elasticity after the age of 25. As time goes by, the breasts lose their original shape and start to sag.

Sagging breasts have a significant impact on the affected women’s emotional well-being, often leading to reduced self-esteem, impairment of sex life, and depression. Fortunately, modern and minimally invasive treatment options are available, which Dr. med. Dr. med. Christina Irene Günter is happy to explain to you in a personal conversation. The surgical breast lift (mastopexy) is only one possible alternative.

A mastopexy’s objective is a visible reshaping and lifting of the breast, restoring its youthful and perky contours. The breast size itself is not affected by a breast lift, since, essentially, only excess skin tissue is removed. A breast lift can be performed for any breast size. For large breasts, however, I usually recommend a simultaneous reduction; otherwise the breasts quickly start sagging again. In the case of very small breasts, and if desired by the patient, a simultaneous or delayed augmentation of the breast may be advisable.

Depending on the shape of the breasts and the desired result, there are several incision options which will form different scars. Almost all incisions, however, have one aspect in common: The required cut around the areola and the vertical incision down to the fold under the breast. This vertical scar causes concern for many women, but it usually heals quickly and inconspicuously. After a few months, it will be hardly visible. Breast reduction surgery demonstrates quite clearly that the wound healing and regeneration process takes several weeks, maybe even months. Immediately after surgery, the breasts do not yet look like they will after the regeneration period when they will have gained their new shape. As is true for any surgery, the breast area’s sensitivity may be impaired in the first months after the procedure. These issues will be discussed sensitively and in detail, in a personal consultation with Dr. Dr. Christina Günter. She will also explain the course of treatment as well as possible adverse side effects and risks. You will, of course, also have the opportunity to resolve any open questions.

Detailed consultations are mandatory before any surgical procedure. It is essential to talk about the motivation for this kind of surgery, to discuss whether the desired result can be achieved, and to speak about possible limitations. Other important topics are alternative treatments, as well as potential adverse side effects and possible risks.

Risks

As with any surgical procedure, a breast lift may lead to bruising (hematoma), secondary bleeding, swelling, wound healing disorders, infections, and wound dehiscence. Temporary numbness of the treated area may also occur. It is only natural to feel some tension in your breasts after a breast lift surgery that may last for several weeks.

If you decide on a breast lift, it is essential that you are cared for professionally and personally during the entire process.

I attach great importance to perceiving, advising, and treating you as an individual, with all your personality’s facets. My many years of experience, expertise, empathy, and communication are central pillars of my therapeutic success. Intensive and personal post-treatment care is as much a focus of my work as the preparation and the treatment itself. After all, a perfect result can only be achieved by working together as a team.

It goes without saying that your health is always given priority. Surgery that negatively affects your health or physical integrity is not recommended and should not be performed in the first place.
